Jane Tomaine is coming to St. Nicholas' Church in Midland

The Rev. Dr. Jane Tomaine, an Episcopal Priest and well known lecturer will lead a two-day retreat at St. Nicholas' Church February 2-27, and will be the preacher at the 9:00 AM Eucharist on Sunday the 28th. The title of the retreat is Strengthening Your Core:  Benedictine Values and Practices for Today’s World. The Retreat is open to anyone who would like to attend.

Dr. Tomaine is the author of St. Benedict’s Toolbox: The Nuts and Bolts of Everyday Benedictine Living (Morehouse, 2005).  A nationally known retreat leader, Jane served as rector of a parish in New Jersey for 12 ½ years.  She will be sharing her love of this spirituality with us and how wisdom from ancient practices speaks today with a living voice. The companion web-site for her book is here, and a flier about the event is available in .pdf here.

 There will be one session at St. Nicholas' Church on Friday, February 26th at 6:30 PM and two sessions on Saturday, February 27th; and she will be the preacher at the Sunday morning service at 9:00 AM. Her discussions will draw from her book, St. Benedict's Toolbox; and there will be a parish study of the book on February 18th and 22nd at 5:30 PM in the Parlor at St. Nicholas'.

There is no charge for the retreat, although a contribution to the Saturday Lunch will be appreciated.
